Set up public health centre

Sir, — A large number of poor and ailing senior citizens live in Kalikanagar, Andhrahalli, Omkaranagar, Sri Raghavendranagar and Vidyamanyanagar areas of Bangalore and find it difficult to get medical care as there is no primary health centre anywhere nearby.

They also find it difficult to travel long distances to hospitals in the city. Several requests made to the authorities for the setting up of a primary health unit in the area have not evoked a positive response.

Minister for Health and Family Welfare R. Ashok is requested to organise a health centre in the area, preferably near Andhrahalli Circle, as it is centrally located.

Decongest arterial road

Sir, — Despite repeated requests made to the local traffic police authorities and the corporator to take steps to decongest the Jayanagar 11th Main arterial road, which connects Jayanagar to J.P. Nagar and other Bangalore South extensions, no action has been taken. Many four-wheelers can be seen parked diagonally, encroaching upon the space used by moving vehicles.

The stretch between 30th Cross and 33rd Cross is a curved road.

Pedestrians and motorists going down this road are often caught unawares by vehicles trying to reverse out of parking lots.

The authorities should take steps to create proper parking spaces for vehicles so that the movement of other vehicles is not hampered.

Poor road condition

Sir, — The inner service road of Outer Ring Road in Kalyan Nagar is in poor condition. It has not been repaired even once after it was laid nearly 20 years ago. The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) should repair and asphalt this road immediately.
