Rupee improves further against $


MUMBAI: The rupee improved further and ended at 40.8750/8850 on Monday against the U.S. dollar following strong equity markets and sustained dollar selling by exporters and banks.

In active trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian unit opened strong at 41.05/06 a dollar from last Friday's close of 41.21/22 a dollar and rallied further to close at 40.8750/8850 a dollar, a rise of over 33 paise.
