Prasenjit Dutta clinches title

NEW DELHI: Prasenjit Dutta pipped Rahul Sangma on superior tiebreak score to claim the honours in the Delhi State chess championship at the Kulachi Hans Raj Model School here. Both players tallied six points from the seven-round event.

In the boys' under-7, five players shared the lead with two points each after two rounds at the Amity International School, Saket, on Monday.

The results:

Boys under-7 (second round): Anish Jain (2) bt Pranjal Dangwal (1); Aryan Bhatia (2) bt Samar Kidwai (1); Chirag Gupta (2) bt Shivang Seth (1); Lakshay Aggarwal (2) lost to Swayam Bhatia (2); Yashaswat Srivastava (2) beat Amitabh Misra (0); Jushaan Singh Kalra (0) lost to Aryaman Arora (1); Pranav Gupta (0) lost to Aryan Garg (1); Rahul Marwal ( 0.5) drew with Chetan Jain (0.5); Yash Aggarwal (1) bye.
