MANGALORE: Suman Suvarna of Veerabharathi Vyayama Shaale (Bengre) and Pranesh Kotian of Hale Vidyarthi Sangha (Bengre) were crowned `Tulu Kumar' and `Tulu Kesari' respectively in the Dakshina Kannada district-level wrestling championships, which concluded here on Sunday. While Suman won the 60-kg weight section beating Rakesh Puthran of Anjaneya Vyayama Shaale (Sasihithlu), Pranesh got the better of Mohan Kumar of Veerabharathi (Bengre) in the 74-kg weight category. Abhi of National Health League (Hosabettu) was crowned `Master Shivaji' after winning the 36-kg weight division. Anjaneya Vyayama Shaale took home the team title. Shivaji Physical (Bolar) finished runner-up.
The results: 36-kg: 1. Abhi (NHL, Hosabettu), 2. Hershith (Shivaji Physical); 45-kg: 1. Prashanth (NHL), 2. Lateesh (Anjaneya); 50-kg: 1. Jagadeesh (Anjaneya), 2. Preetham (NHL); 55-kg: 1. Yatish (Anjaneya), 2. Jeetesh (Anjaneya). 60-kg: 1. Suman Suvarna (Veerabharathi), 2. Rakesh Puthran (Anjaneya); 66-kg: 1. Dheeraj (Veerabharathi), 2. Prashanth Suvarna (Halevidyarthi Sangha (Bengre); 74-kg: 1. Pranesh Kotian (HVS), 2. Mohan Kumar (Veerabharathi); 85-kg: 1. Sandeep S. Rao (Shivaji Physical), 2. Deviparasad (Anjaneya).
