Student injured in accident

BANGALORE: A 20-year-old was seriously injured when a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus knocked down the vehicle she was riding at in the Sadashivanagar police station limits on Monday.

The bus also rammed another scooter, an autorickshaw and a multi-utility vehicle. Undergoing treatment The police gave the name of the injured as Suchitra, resident of Basaveshwaranagar. Prakash, who was riding the scooter, autorickshaw driver Vyramudi and passenger Gangadharappa, who were also injured, are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

The bus driver Chandrashekhar told the police that he lost control over the vehicle as the brakes failed. He has been arrested. Traffic on the busy Sankey Road, leading to Sadashivnagar and Bellary Road came to a halt for over 45 minutes following the accident.
