Nominations invited for Citizen award

Award will include a silver plaque and certificate of commendation in tricolour

COIMBATORE: United Writers' Association (UWA), Chennai, an association devoted to the promotion of national solidarity, has invited nominations for conferment of the Citizen Extraordinaire Leadership Award for 2007-08.

Journalists, academicians, educationists, authors, artists, scientists, cultural ambassadors, entrepreneurs, defence personnel, media experts, bankers, doctors, religious and community leaders and institution builders, all of whom have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their fields of endeavour and contributed abundantly to the betterment of contemporary society, can send in their nominations.

The contribution of the individual in the concerned field should be for at least 10 to 15 years. The nominee should have actively taken initiatives to present, promote and develop India's social and cultural heritage at the national and international level.

Application

The award will include a silver plaque and certificate of commendation in tricolour. Application form along with rules and regulations can be had from the UWA National Award Committee, United Writers' Association, 32, Parameswara Avenue, VRS Nagar, Maduravoil, Chennai 600095.
