Court notice to MEA
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI:
Admitting a petition of a woman whose husband was murdered in Italy more than six months ago and who is yet to receive his body, the Delhi High Court has issued notices to the Ministry of External Affairs seeking a reply by May 21.
In her petition, Anita Gupta, a resident of Dwarka in South-West Delhi, had alleged that the Indian authorities had not done anything to ensure that the body of her husband Ram Chander was brought to Delhi. The petitioner told the court her husband had gone to Germany and then to Italy in 1996 after her marriage. He was employed as a manager in a company in Italy where he was murdered last November.
