Nitish's wife cremated

Special Correspondent

PATNA: The mortal remains of Manju Sinha, wife of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, were consigned to flames at the Pahalwan Ghat on the banks of the Ganga here on Tuesday. Nishant, their only son, lit the funeral pyre.

She died on Monday in a private hospital in Delhi, where she had been admitted for pneumonia a fortnight ago.

The body was brought by air on Tuesday morning.

It was taken to the Chief Minister's residence, the government school, where Manju Sinha was a teacher, and her maternal house before being taken to the cremation ground.
