41 made chief engineers

BANGALORE: The Government has promoted 41 superintending engineers of the departments of Public Works and Water Resources as chief engineers.

Complaint

Agricultural Marketing Minister Sharanabasappa Darshanapur and a couple of MLAs from Gulbarga district are learnt to have complained to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday that names of three superintending engineers had been dropped at the last minute from the promotion list.

The Minister and MLAs took exception to the last-minute change.

The Chief Minister assured them that he would look into the matter.
