Kannada Sammelan in September
The Cabinet subcommittee on the Suvarna Karnataka celebrations met here on Tuesday and decided to launch all the remaining programmes planned during the State's golden jubilee year shortly. It also decided to provide an additional grant of Rs. 83 crore for the purpose. Besides publication of books and other cultural programmes, Rangamandiras will be built in seven district headquarter cities and 47 more Gadi Bhavans will be constructed in border taluks. `I did not abuse Vice-Chancellor'
The Chief Minister told presspersons here on Tuesday that some women's organisations backed by Congress leaders had staged protests in Mysore alleging that he had abused Prof. Rao. Mr. Kumaraswamy clarified that during his visit to the university he did not ask the Vice-Chancellor to regularise the services of temporary employees. 348 nominations PANAJI: A total of 348 nominations have been filed by party candidates and independents for the 40 Assembly constituencies for the Goa Assembly elections scheduled on June 2. On Tuesday, the last day of filing of nominations, as many as 179 nominations were filed, according to State election officials.
