NELLORE: Audisankara College of Engineering and Technology (ASCET), Gudur has bagged the `Technology Delivery Centre' sponsored by Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. This is the first of its kind venture in the country with an outlay of Rs. 3 lakh. Under this project, technologies developed by individuals and organisations will be displayed at two `melas' this year. Renewable energy specialist A. Jagadeesh will be the advisor to the project while Head of the Department of Biotechnology (in charge) N.V. Surendra Babu and Assistant Professor of EEE branch S. Uday Bhaskar will be coordinators.
3D approach
Moreover, a Centre for Energy and Environment has also been set up at the institute for research and application of sustainable technologies through 3D (Design, Demonstration and Dissemination) approach. The projects will be proposed to DST, DSIR, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and related ministries. An advisory board with experts in energy and environment from India and abroad will guide the Centre. Students will be encouraged to carry out innovative projects at the Centre, principal V. Krishnakumar said.
