Malleswaram Gymkhana scores innings win

Bangalore: Malleswaram Gymkhana defeated Wadiyar CC by an innings and 72 runs in a KSCA Group I, first division league match here recently. Powered by V. Cheluvaraj's 144, Malleswaram Gymkhana posted 338 for four in its first innings and later bundled out Wadiyar for 94 and 172 with Hardik Munnoth scalping seven wickets in Wadiyar's second innings.

Malleswaram Gymkhana 338 for four in 78 overs (V. Cheluvaraj 144, Raju Bhatkal 63 not out, Prasanna Patil 56 not out, Shoaib Manager 40) bt Wadiyar 94 in 35.3 overs (Harsha Tiptur 40, Sunil Kumar five for 24) and 172 in 44 overs (Hussain 56, Fazal Khaleel 50, Hardik Munoth seven for 76).

Jayanagar Colts 165 in 57 overs (Nikhil Kashyap five for 52) and 206 for six in 58.4 overs (Bharath 96) drew with Herons 320 for five decl. in 80 overs (Nikhil Kashyap 109 not out, Abhinav Kumar 107).

Jawans 505 for eight decl. in 91 overs (Gautam 136, Jonathan 98, Pawan Gaargi 76, Chetan Williams 67, S.R. Deepu 51 not out) drew with Social Cricketers 369 in 94.3 overs (Rajshekar Shanbal 134, Sudhindra Shinde 109, N. Vinoo Prasad six for 105, Ryan Ninan four for 121).

Vijay slams century

Vijay's 125 set the base for Vijaya Cricketers' 77-run victory over Challengers `A' here in a Giants Shriram Life cricket cup tournament match. Vijaya Cricketers posted 297 for six in 30 overs and bowled out Challengers `A' for 220 in 30 overs.

Skipper Samarth Ooty's unbeaten century guided hosts Vasant Murdeshwar Cricket Academy (VMCA) `A' to a huge 212 runs win over Hubli Cricket Academy (HCA) `B' team in the inaugural league match of the Vishva Sports trophy under-13 inter-camp cricket tournament at the KE Board's PU College, in Dharwad on Monday.

Brief scores: VMCA `A', Dharwad 257 for 4 in 25 overs (Samarth Ooty 135 not out, S.P. Vinod SP 2 for 62) beat HCA `B', Hubli 45 in 15.3 overs (Samarth Ooty 2 for 2) by 212 runs.

VMCA `B', Dharwad 96 in 15.3 overs (Shubham Powar 3 for 25, Anirudh Ritti 2 for 17) lost to HCA `A' 97 for 1 in 13 overs (Atreya Inamdar 42 not out, Sounak Biswas 25 not out).
