MRPS to block traffic on NH-7

Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR: The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) will block the traffic on the entire stretch of about 240 km of NH-7 in the district on May 17 in support of the indefinite hunger strike planned by its president M. Krishna Madiga in front of the Chief Minister's residence in Hyderabad on that date.

Talking to newspersons here on Tuesday, State general secretary of the organisation, which is agitating for the categorisation of SCs stated that the activists would also stage a rasta roko in the Assembly constituency headquarters.

They also plans to lay siege to MPDO and tehsildars' offices at mandal level on that day.
