CPI(M) activists storms civic body office

KURNOOL: Women led by the CPI(M) stormed the office of the Municipal Corporation here on Tuesday to protest against lack of provision for community and individual toilets in slums.

District secretary of the party T. Shadrak, who led the protest, said women at Johrapuram, Rajiv Nagar, LBG Nagar and Amir Hyderkhan Nagar were inconvenienced in the absence of community toilets or individual toilets.

Women's ire

He said the women resorted to a struggle as the Municipal Corporation was dragging its feet on construction of toilet complexes.

CPI(M) Floor leader in the corporation E. Pulla Reddy, Mahila Sangham leader and corporator Nirmala, T. Ramudu and others were present.

Protesters had their lunch on the premises of the corporation.
