CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has spent Rs.1,337 crore on construction of new 205-km-long roads and repair, strengthening and carpeting of roads measuring 9,195 km. An official spokesman of the PWD (B and R) Department said that tenders had been floated for six-laning of 63.49 km length of National Highway No. 10. He said tenders would also be invited for six-laning of 78.88 km on National Highway No. 10 passing through Hisar. Similarly, four-laning of the Gurgaon-Faridabad road on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis is under consideration. And to ease congestion of traffic between Faridabad and Delhi, a six-lane elevated highway is to be constructed at a cost of Rs.267.50 crore on National Highway No. 2 at Badarpur. The spokesman further disclosed that the Zirakpur-Panchkula-Kalka highway would be four-laned.
