Shankar Rao's challenge to high command

Special Correspondent

  • New Ministers do not have the track record to merit inclusion in the Cabinet
  • YSR has lost grip over the administration, says the dissident Congress leader

HYDERABAD: Dissident Congress leader and Shadnagar legislator P. Shankar Rao has dared the APCC to forward his resignation letter to the Speaker if they feel that he has indulged in indiscipline by raising his voice against Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

"I am prepared to face the election and dare the party high command to forward my resignation letter," Mr. Rao said. "I will feel happy if the party takes a quick decision on my resignation." Asked why he had sent his resignation letter to the party instead of the Speaker, he said the party had given him the ticket and it was for them to decide about it. He found fault with the party for denying him an opportunity to speak at the State plenum on Monday.
