BHUBANESWAR: In continuation of their efforts to involve parents to discipline students, authorities of BJB Junior College, a premier institution of Orissa, have posted results of classroom examination on website. "We have also distributed progress cards to parents in three disciplines such as Science, Arts and Commerce. The move will help parents realise that where their sons and daughters have gone wrong," BJB Junior College Principal R. N. Panda said. Parents of 579 students studying Science were invited to receive their children's mark-sheet. About 500 parents turned up to receive the progress report. Similarly, parents of 120 of 140 students belonging to Commerce subject and parents of 300 out of 512 students in Arts were present as the college authorities handed over marksheets here on Monday. Mr. Panda said, "we have decided to post students' attendance in classroom to their respective parents during the first week of every month." All it started last month when the college authorities decided to call an urgent parents' meet apparently to find a solutions to growing cases of students skipping regular classes. The principal also informed that for the first time in the State, the college had carried out regular classes even after examinations were over by April 25.
