Interns of Rohtak institute to get more stipend

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has decided to enhance the monthly stipend for interns of Pandit B. D. Sharma Post-graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak, from Rs.3,000 to Rs. 4,500 and the internship allowance for students of the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course of Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College, Kurukshetra, from Rs. 1,200 to Rs.2,000, Health Minister Kartar Devi announced here on Tuesday.

She disclosed that the erstwhile Indian National Lok Dal Government in the State had raised the monthly stipend for the interns of Pandit B. D. Sharma Post-graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak, from Rs.1,600 to Rs.3,000 in April 1998. Interestingly, the monthly internship allowance for BAMS students of Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College, Kurukshetra, was raised from Rs.600 to Rs.1,200 in September 1995.
