Rs.10.5 crore sanctioned for infrastructure

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government on Tuesday sanctioned Rs.10.5 crore for socio-economic and infrastructure development of the Dang and Magra regions in eastern and south-eastern dacoity-infested territory and hilly terrains of the State.

State Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Kalulal Gujjar announced at the third meeting of the Dang and Magra Regional Development Board here that Rs.5.5 crore would be spent on development of Dang and Rs.5 crore on Magra during 2007-08.

Mr. Gujjar said emphasis would be laid on effective implementation of development schemes in the 13 districts falling in the two regions and proposals for public works would be formulated to fulfil the areas of priority.

The Minister said the achievement of targets in the two regions during 2006-07 was low in percentage terms and issued instructions for completion of all pending works by July 15 next.

He said the elected representatives would provide guidelines for formulating new development works.
