MANGALORE: The Hindu EducationPlus will conduct a pre-counselling session for students pursuing engineering, medical and allied courses who appeared for the Common Entrance Test and the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka test, at the Town Hall here on Friday. A panel of academicians and experts from the industry will guide the students on the choice of courses and the admission process. The panel will include Dean of K.S. Hegde Medical Academy Shantaram Shetty, Director of the National Institute of Technology - Karnataka, Surathkal, Sandeep Sancheti, former president of Indian Dental Association U.S. Krishna Nayak and professor emeritus of Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, G.N. Menon. Students will be allowed to interact with the experts. The session will begin at 10 a.m. Those interested in participating can register their names at the office of The Hindu , Jeppu, here, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The registration fee is Rs. 100 a student. Those who register will be given a booklet containing information on various courses and the colleges offering those courses. The session will be sponsored by State Bank of Mysore, Garden City College, Bangalore; Manipal Education, Manipal; The Oxford Educational Institutions, Bangalore; Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. and Bharat Petroleum.
