Pushpamala comes up with two new works

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Alliance Francaise de Bangalore will screen two short films titled "Paris Autumn" and "Rashtriy Kheer and Desi Salad" made by contemporary artist Pushpamala N. on May 17 at 7.30 p.m.

The artist is the protagonist as well as the director of both the films. The 35-minute "Paris Autumn," made entirely with black-and-white still photographs, was conceptualised following Pushpamala's recent visit to Paris. "The movie moves at a breathless pace and has a Gothic touch to it," explains Pushpamala. "Rashtriy Kheer and Desi Salad," an eleven-minute film, is a playful and ironic look at the Indian family. "It contains excerpts from my mother and mother-in-law's recipe books from the '50s," she says.
