Where demolitions find an echo

Demolitions in Munnar have found an echo in Kochi, as many resort owners, real-estate developers and builders in the hill station in Idukki district are from the city.

The State Government's action to evict encroachers has surprised many.

Nobody had believed that the battle against encroachers would become a reality.

But, the workers demolishing the buildings are getting a good deal. Many from the city have reached Munnar on a promised wage of Rs. 400 a day.
