HYDERABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday announced that it would shortly launch an agitation demanding implementation of G.O.610 and the third phase of Krishna water project to augment the drinking water supply for the twin cities. Addressing a press conference here, State BJP president Bandaru Dattatreya and general secretary, Chinta Sambamurthy, alleged that Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy himself had violated G.O.610 by appointing a special officer in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board. Criticising the delay in implementing the third phase of the Rs.800-crore Krishna water project, they alleged that 5.5 tmc envisaged to be supplied to the city was planned to be diverted. Accusing Dr. Reddy of uttering falsehoods at the `Re-dedication Day' celebrations on Monday, they claimed that there was nothing new in the assurances and the 20-point programme announced by him. They also faulted him for announcing that reservation for Muslims would be implemented from this academic year when the Supreme Court had held that religious-based quota was unconstitutional. Referring to the proposed fast-unto-death by MRPS leaders demanding implementation of categorisations of SCs, they said the patience of Dalits was wearing out and urged the Chief Minister to take steps to avert it. They demanded an all-party meet on Jalayagnam .
