Town planning staff to be transferred

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has ordered the transfer of all town planning staff of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) who had put in more than two years of service in a particular place. Dr. Reddy wanted the transfers to take place within a week and the resultant vacancies be immediately filled with persons with suitable qualifications, a press release from the Chief Minister's Office said on Tuesday. The Chief Minister has asked the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary to ensure that the GHMC provides the best of services to the citizens and Hyderabad becomes the investment destination. The Town Planning wing should be functioning in a responsible and citizen friendly manner and those personnel working with utmost dedication will be recognised and rewarded in a suitable manner, he told the municipal administration department.
