BANGALORE: Shivakumar, the accused in the murder of Pratibha Murthy, did not report to duty on the day before the killing, said an employee of the transport agency he was working for. M. Murali, a team leader in SRS Travels, submitted before a fast track court hearing the case on Tuesday, that Shivakumar was driving a vehicle attached to the transport agency. The agency had a contract with Hewlett Packard to pick up and drop its employees. Shivakumar was regularly driving on route No. 976. On December 12, 2005 Shivakumar did not report for duty in the night. In order to know the reason Murali called Shivakumar on his mobile phone around 10 p.m. Shivakumar did not answer the call. Then he called Renukappa, the vehicle owner. "Renukappa told me that the vehicle was running for another transport agency as the transport charges given by our company are very low." Earlier the court recorded the evidence of Raghuveer Sampath, vice-president of Citibank, about the bank accounts held by Pratibha and her husband Pavan Shetty.
