New Superintendent for SAT Hospital

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Zulfickar Ahmed, Professor of Paediatric Cardiology, has been appointed as the new Superintendent of SAT Hospital. The Government order to this effect was issued on Monday. Head of Paediatrics Lalitha Kailas had been given the charge of Superintendent following the removal of K. Rajmohan from the post over the issue of infection outbreak in the hospital. She had, however, informed the Government that holding two administrative posts would be a difficult proposition. Dr.Ahmed is expected to take charge on Wednesday. — Staff Reporter

Drowned

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Vigneswaran, 40, a manual labourer and a resident of Peyad who went to take bath in a lake, near Kundamanbhagam, drowned on Tuesday evening. He was brought dead to the Medical College Hospital. — Staff Reporter

Men arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The Peroorkkada police have arrested three persons from Eenchakkal bypass on Tuesday evening in connection with the murder of C.K. Ani at Kuttiyamood last week. The arrested persons are Babu Kuttan alias Liju, 22, Chellu Suni alias Sunil Kumar, 24, residents of Kuttiyamood and Prasad alias Dennis, a resident of Nettayam.

Contractor dead

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Suresh Kumar, 33, a contractor and a resident of Kanjiramkulam who was admitted at the Medical College Hospital following a motorcycle accident near S.M.V. school on Saturday night died on Tuesday morning. — Staff Reporter
