SKU to felicitate Shinde

ANANTAPUR: The 14th convocation of Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) will be held here on June 12, Vice-Chancellor of the university A. Rama Rao said here on Tuesday.

The Executive Council of the university also decided to confer honorary doctorates on five prominent personalities including former Governor of Andhra Pradesh and presently Union Minister for Power Sushil Kumar Shinde, he said.

Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology T. Ramaswamy would deliver the convocation address. He would also be conferred an honorary doctorate.

Besides, the university would confer honorary doctorates on Father Vincent Ferrer, founder of Rural Development Trust, an NGO, R. Balaraju, a retired lecturer in Government Degree College here for his work in Telugu literature, and Y. Venkatarami Reddy, former Vice-Chancellor of JNTU and presently Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission.
