Government puts its order on hold

Special Correspondent

Mention of blood groups in TCs

CHENNAI: The State Government has put on hold a G.O. that made it mandatory for schools to mention the blood group of students in transfer certificates issued to Plus Two students.

As per the January 24, 2004 G.O., headmasters of schools had to ensure that particulars such as blood groups and allergies had to be mentioned in the transfer certificates. However, due to early publication of Plus Two results this year, schools did not have enough time to comply with the order, School Education Department sources said.

Hence, headmasters have been asked not to mention blood group particulars in the transfer certificates to be issued to students along with marksheets on May 25.
