This time it is a bigger affair with more number of jobs on offer

  • It will be held on May 26 and 27 at the KTPO Trade Centre, Whitefield, Bangalore
  • It has jobs on offer for graduates/postgraduates with up to 10 years' experience

Bangalore: After 14 successful events held over the last three years, The Hindu Opportunities Fair 2007 is entering Bangalore for the third time. This job fair promises to be a bigger affair with more number of jobs on offer. The 15th edition of The Hindu Opportunities Fair will be held on May 26 and 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the KTPO Trade Centre, Whitefield, Bangalore.

Four such events have already been conducted this year by The Hindu in Thiruvananthapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Hyderabad and Madurai.

More than 30 companies from the IT, ITES and BPO industries are participating in this edition of The Hindu Opportunities Fair. Most are top-tier companies. Each of these companies has plans of recruiting in large numbers, making it the largest event of this kind in terms of the number of participating companies and the number of jobs on offer. The event will have lots of jobs on offer for graduates/postgraduates and professionals with up to 10 years' experience.

This value addition from The Hindu Opportunities addresses a felt need of both the industry and job seekers.

Most companies will go through a process of short-listing candidates, administering tests and conducting interviews. While some companies will recruit candidates at the Fair, some others may finalise recruitments and offer appointment letters at a later stage.

    Registration process

Candidates with experience of two years or more will be issued Hall Entry Tickets (HET) by return mail upon registration. Candidates with less than two years' experience will receive invitations after pre-screening based on the requirements of the participating companies. HETs will be sent to the candidates only if they fit the requirements of one of the participating companies. Entry will be strictly on invitation.

Candidates can register online at www.thehindu.com or www.tmifirst.com/hf6/index.aspx once the process of registration is complete; candidates need to take a printout of their registration acknowledgement, with unique registration number. Candidates can walk into the fair with the printout and meet prospective employers. It is advisable to carry at least 30 printouts of one's resume to the Fair.

The event is sponsored and presented by Cognizant and Patni Computer in association with Verizon, Covansys and SAIC.

The communication partner for the event is BSNL and the technology partner is TMI First.
