AIADMK, TDP stage walk-out
Gargi Parsai
NEW DELHI:
All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazagham and Telugu Desam Party members on Wednesday staged a walk-out in the Rajya Sabha when they were not allowed to raise their issues relating to the attack on the Dinakaran office in Tamil Nadu and the construction of the Babhali irrigation project on the Godavari in Maharashtra.
As soon as Deputy Chairman K. Rahman Khan took up special mentions during zero hour, TDP leaders Ravula Chandra Sekar Reddy and C. Ramachandraiah were on their feet to raise the Babhali issue. When Mr. Khan did not allow them to do so saying their notice was not admitted by the Chairman, the party members walked out in protest.
AIADMK Parliamentary Party leader P.G. Narayanan sought to raise the Dinakaran issue, but Mr. Khan said there was no notice.
