New Delhi: Opposing Kiran Dhar's bail plea, a co-accused in the human trafficking case, the Delhi Police on Wednesday submitted before a city court that her role in the offence was ``instrumental'' as she used to forge documents of travellers with an aim to obtain visas.
Documents
In a reply to the bail application of Dhar, which was filed before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau, the investigation officer (IO) said ``she was instrumental in preparing all forged documents to enhance the personal profiles for obtaining visa''. Dhar, an associate of co-accused Rajendra Kumar Gumpa, personal secretary to suspended BJP MP Babubhai Katara, used to communicate with various embassies to obtain visa for their client, IO Arvind Kumar said.
Travel agency
She was working as chief operation officer with a travel agency, Cloud Nine Travels and Forex Pvt Ltd, he said, adding, ``The investigation of the case is crucial stage and many co-accused are to be arrested.'' Seeking dismissal of her bail plea, the police said the CPU of her computer had already been sent to Hyderabad for retrieving the erased data which might reveal more about her complicity in the offence. ``Scrutiny of bank statements revealed entries of heavy cash and transcations, which clearly indicate her deep involvement with the human trafficking syndicate,'' the police said, adding that her address on the passport was also found to be fake. Taking the reply into the records, the court, however, deferred the hearing on her bail plea to May 24, the day on which the bail application by other accused would also be heard. - PTI
