HYDERABAD: Mystery shrouds the death of an eight-year-old boy B. Nagaraju, whose charred body was found in his single-room house at Sainagar of Kushaiguda on Wednesday. The boy was the second of the three sons of a maid Lata, whose husband Pentaiah passed away ten months ago. Her eldest son aged about 11 years recently joined a photo studio as helper and went for work in the morning. Lata left for work leaving the other two boys, Nagaraju and Omkar, 5, at home. She returned home in the afternoon and saw the charred body of Nagaraju lying on the floor in the house. Omkar told the police that Nagaraju had a fight with his elder brother minutes before the latter left for the studio in the morning.
Police clueless
"Except that Omkar is not able to say anything. There are no signs inside the house to suggest that someone doused the boy in kerosene and set him on fire," Kushaiguda police station Inspector K. Ramchander Rao said. The neighbourhood boys playing outside said they did not see any strangers moving suspiciously in the street after Lata left for work. The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue. Post-mortem of the body will be conducted on Thursday.
