Boy shot dead
According to the police, Mayank, a resident of Jehangirpuri, was shot by three men in the afternoon when he was returning home along with his mother after withdrawing Rs. 24,000 from a neighbourhood bank. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
Man shot at
According to the police, the accused reached the house of Mohammad Nadim on Wednesday morning and inquired about his brother Wasim. As one of them was carrying a country-made pistol, Nadim became suspicious. He told them that Wasim was upstairs, but did not allow them inside. At this, one of them shot at him and the three fled. The police said the sister of one of the accused was married to Wasim and she suspected him of having an extra-marital affair. So her brother allegedly hatched a conspiracy with his friends to eliminate Wasim.
Four arrested
The accused have been identified as Naresh, Pawan, Mukesh and Satish Tiwari. During interrogation, Naresh purportedly disclosed that he was involved in two cases of robbery and four cases under the Arms Act. While Pawan is involved in cases of snatching, Arms Act and theft, Mukesh has been arrested twice under the Arms Act.
Pickpockets held
Acting on a tip-off that some criminals would gather near the Kamla Nehru College bus shelter for pickpocketing, the police mounted a raid and arrested them. They were identified as Anil, Soni, Vijay, Badal and Rakesh. During interrogation, they purportedly disclosed that they picked pockets in buses.
