NEW DELHI: K. Sasikiran stunned top British Grandmaster Michael Adams and became the joint leader after an eventful sixth round of the Mtel Masters chess tournament in Sofia on Wednesday. Sasikiran's 34-move victory in Queen's Indian took his tally to 3.5 points, same as overnight sole leader Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, who lost to Gata Kamsky in 44 moves of Pirc Defence.
The results: Sixth round: K. Sasikiran (3.5) bt Micheal Adams (Eng, 3); Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu (Rom, 2.5) lost to Veselin Topalov (Bul, 3); Gata Kamsky (USA, 2.5) bt Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Aze, 3.5).
