New Delhi : The Supreme Court on Thursday declined to stay the demolitions being carried out at Munnar in Kerala. A Bench comprising Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan and Justice R.V. Raveendran refused to entertain a petition filed by Hoteliers' Association of Munnar seeking stay of the demolitions. Senior counsel Arun Jaitley made a mention of the filing of the petition. The Bench pointed out that "if the constructions are on encroached lands, how can you claim any right. If you have a valid title deed, your property will not be touched. We cannot give a blanket stay on demolitions."
