More properties sealed in Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Thursday sealed 23 commercial properties operating from residential premises in the Capital.

Twelve properties were sealed on Savitri Cinema Road in Central Zone. Two properties each were targeted on Grand Trunk Road in Civil Lines Zone and Gautam Nagar in South Delhi.

18 child labourers rescued

NEW DELHI: Eighteen child labourers below the age of 14 were rescued by the Delhi Government's Labour Department from Usmanpur here on Thursday.

According to Deputy Labour Commissioner (East and North East District) K. R. Verma, all the rescued children will be produced before the Child Welfare Committee.

Promoting Japanese language education

NEW DELHI: The Embassy of Japan in association with Japan Foundation will organise the second All-India Conference on Promotion of Japanese Language Education at the official residence of the Japanese Ambassador here on Friday.

The conference is aimed at understanding the present status and difficulties of Japanese language learning in India and, based upon this understanding, discuss means to remove them and further promote Japanese language education in the country.

Gender sensitisation

NEW DELHI: Amity World Women Forum organised a consultative workshop on "Gender sensitisation: Future scenario" at Amity University in neighbouring Noida earlier this week. It was inaugurated by Kiran Bedi, Director-General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development.

Several issues such as best practices in gender policies in organisations, providing equal opportunity to men and women, establishing gender balance at all levels and legal issues facilitating gender equality were discussed at the workshop.
