Indian woman detained after hijack joke

Kuala Lumpur: An Indian woman was briefly held after she cracked a joke about hijacking a Malaysian Airlines flight from here to the northern island of Penang, when her children were refused access to the cockpit.

The woman, in her mid 30s, made the comment after the steward refused to let her enter the cockpit with her two young children on Wednesday, police said on Thursday.

It could not be confirmed if the woman had cracked the joke about hijacking on board the plane or after she had disembarked at the Penang airport.

However, the Malaysian Airlines said the incident occurred on the ground. — PTI
