NEW DELHI: The Centre on Thursday said it was reviewing the situation in Punjab following clashes between Sikhs and the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda.

The State Government has been advised to maintain peace and keep the Centre updated on the law and order situation following violent clashes in various parts of the State over the last few days, an official spokesman said.

The Centre has also promised assistance that the State may seek.

Advisories have been sent to States concerned, including Punjab and Haryana, to keep a watch on the law and order situation.
