BIE caution against college

HYDERABAD: Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) Secretary N. Vijayalakshmi on Wednesday said Sri Vaishnavi - New Vision Educational Institutions, Hyderabad were not recognised by the board. She cautioned parents not to seek any admission for their wards in these institutions.

An advertisement was released by the institutions in a vernacular daily on experience of lecturers and also inviting students for admission.

Convicted

The designated court for ACB cases convicted Mohammed Ifthekar Ahmed, former Deputy Secretary (Exams-I) of BIE, and sentenced him to undergo RI for six months. The ACB arrested him in 1999 when he took Rs. 3,000 from a complainant.
