VSSC support for Keltron

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (Keltron) on Thursday signed an agreement with Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) for the supply of sub assemblies for PSLV and GSLV. VSSC Director B.N. Suresh and Keltron Managing Director M. Narayanan signed the document at a function held at Industries Minister Elamaram Karim's chamber here. As per the agreement, Keltron will get Rs.50 lakh from VSSC to strengthen the test facilities at its units at Karakulam and Kulathur in Thiruvananthapuram. — Special Correspondent

Man arrested

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Anilkumar, 37, working at the Primary Health Centre, Pangappara, was arrested on Thursday on charges of unauthorised possession of syringes, needles, surgical gloves and medicines. He was apprehended on the Medical College Hospital premises. Some medicines and syringes were also found from his house, the police said. A case has been registered. — Staff Reporter

SFI demand

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Students' Federation of India (SFI) has demanded a Vigilance enquiry into the admission process of the private self-financing professional colleges in the State. SFI State secretary M. Swaraj said at a press conference here that the organisation would not allow the conduct of the entrance examinations by these colleges. — Staff Reporter
