No concrete clues in woman's murder case
The police said so far they had not come across any concrete evidence indicating involvement of Pankaj Rakesh, husband of Archana Grover, in her murder. "However, we are investigating all possible angles," said a police officer, adding that efforts were being made to trace the domestic help, Rakhi Shah. On Wednesday afternoon, Archana's children heard her quarrelling with a woman in the bedroom. After some time when they went inside, they found her lying motionless on the floor. The police suspect that Rakhi killed Archana.
Hunt launched for alleged forgers
The Israel Embassy authorities on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Tughlak Road police here alleging that three persons, Narender Singh, Pawandeep and Mehboob, had submitted forged documents while applying for working visas. Acting on the complaint, the police have registered a case and are planning to send teams to Punjab to trace the accused.
Four boys drowned
According to the police, the victims -- Amit (12), Surjeet (12), Firoz (13) and Jitender (14) -- were taking a bath in Jai Vihar nala near Machchali Bazar around 5-30 p.m. along with their friends. They strayed into the deep end of the drain and were drowned. When their friends cried for help, some local residents and policemen pulled them out. They were taken to a nearby hospital where they were declared brought dead. All four were residents of Bhagwati Vihar in Uttam Nagar.
Two killed
According to the police, 50-year-old Ramesh Kumar came under the rear wheels of a DTC bus while alighting. Ramesh owned a perfume shop in Sadar Bazar. The driver, Mahender Singh, has been arrested. In the other accident, 50-year-old Hasina Begum was killed on Janpath in the morning. The woman along with her husband was going towards the Pakistan Embassy when a speeding Blueline bus hit their motorcycle, the police said. She died on the spot.
