Salem: A fine unbeaten 86 by Saravanan saw Venkatramana Cricket Club defeat Rothmans Cricket Club by 88 runs in the TNCA-SDCA First Division league here recently.

The scores: First Division: Venkatramana CC 236 for seven in 43 overs (Saravanan 86 n.o., Viswanathan 53, R. Selvam four for 30) bt Rothmans CC 148 in 43 overs; TUG CC w/o Chandramouli CC.

Second Division: Sunil CC 203 in 40 overs (M. Lavan 55, John Joel Pratap 40, Selvakumar five for 26) lost to Pauls CC 205 for seven in 31.3 overs (M. Kannan 40).

Students Jr. CC 255 for nine in 42 overs (Prakash 68, Arokiyaraj 53) bt Jaganathan CC 203 in 42 overs.

Parks XI CC 131 in 37 overs (M. Faroque 40) lost to S. Rao CC 135 for six in 31.3 overs.

RTP CC 171 in 42 overs (Azaruddin 44, Saravanan five for 29) lost to RMCC 172 for four in 23.4 overs (Ganesh Murugan 40).

Third Division: Talented CC 204 in 40 overs (A. Prabhu Ramasamy 41) lost to Gandhiji CC 205 for seven in 35 overs (D. Jeevanantham 50, R. Babu four for 23).

SISCOL CC 264 for seven in 35 overs (M. Kumar 59, R. Thiruchelvam 49) bt Metro CC 189 in 40 overs (Prabu 50, S. Ilayaraja four for 21).

Divis CC posts win

G. Mathan picked five for 32 in Divis Cricket Club's handsome eight-wicket win over Kenthorai Cricket Club in the TNCA-NDCA `C' division league for the Fountain India Rolling Trophy in Udhagamandalam on Thursday.

The scores: `C' Division: Kenthorai CC 90 (G. Mathan five for 32) lost to Divis CC (K. Manigandan 40); Rockers CC 118 lost to Zeal Guys CC 119 for five in 26.2 overs (A.R. Selvakumar 41).
