Leopard attacks woman

Nasik: A leopard strayed into a residential area here on Saturday and attacked an old woman, spreading panic among people.

According to the police, the leopard attacked the woman and entered a flat in Audambar Chhaya apartments at Indira Nagar and hid in the kitchen.

Forest officials reached the spot soon after and tranquillised the big cat, which was taken to a forest garden. The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated in a private hospital. The leopard is believed to have strayed into the city from nearby hilly regions in search of food. — PTI
