Train services hit by squall
Traffic was disrupted on the Narela-Radhna and Badli-Holambi Kalan section, a Northern Railways official said here. ``Due to the heavy storm, some trees fell on the overhead traction wire at around 6 pm on the route, holding up the services of some incoming and outgoing trains,'' he said. He added services would be resumed once the trees were removed.
Two held for staging "fake robbery"
According to the police, 23-year-old Nitin Gaur had lodged a complaint on Wednesday alleging that he was robbed of Rs. 2.66 lakh while he was returning after making collections from his employer's clients. However, the police found several contradictions in his story. During sustained interrogation he purportedly confessed to having staged a fake robbery to pocket the money. His alleged accomplice Jai Prakash has also been arrested and Rs. 2 lakh recovered from him, the police said.
Two arrested on murder charge
According to the police, Birshan (29) and Krishan (32) had murdered one Rajender alias Sonu in Dabri on March 4. They suspected that the victim was having an affair with their sister. Acting on a tip-off, Birshan was arrested near Uttrakhand Colony on Friday. At his instance, Krishan was arrested at Roop Nagar. According to the police, "both brothers are registered bad characters of Dabri police station".
Alleged criminal nabbed
According to the police, Kaptan Singh alias Captain, a resident of Alipur, is an accomplice of dreaded criminal Krishan Pahlwan. He was arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police near Vardhman Grand Plaza. One country-made pistol and a live cartridge were recovered from him, the police said. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against him at the Rohini police station.
