CHENNAI: M.G. Creations has produced two telefilms with an eye on the international market. The films, "My Dear Father" and "Self Defence", are both scripted and directed by Atlanta Ganesh, who has acted in a number of stage plays directed by Visu and Y.Gee. Mahendra. Both films feature American and Indian artists. M.G. Creations is an Indo-U.S. company with offices in Chennai and Atlanta. Ganesh and his partner, Mahendra Jogani, aim to make five to six cross-cultural films every year with American and Indian artists. "My Dear Father" is about a young American girl coming down to Chennai in search of her Indian father, whom she manages to find after much travail. "Self Defence" expounds the need for a woman to equip herself with self-defence tactics through martial training. American actress Linda Arsenio plays the lead role in both films. She has earlier been a part of Yash Chopra's "Kabul Express". Television actor Krishna plays the hero with Y.Gee. Mahendra cast in the role of the parent in both films. Other artists include Adithya, Sweda, Baby, P.B. Balaji, Anandhi and Bhavana.
"Enjoyable experience"
According to Mr. Jogani, producing both these films was an enjoyable experience. "I have met some Hollywood and Bollywood artists in my line of business. But when it comes to producing films, the experience is something else." Arul Mani Palani has handled the camera for both films, with editing by Senthil. The story, screenplay, dialogue and direction of both the productions are by Ganesh.
