HYDERABAD: The bandh called for by the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) in protest against the bomb blast in Mecca masjid was complete in the city. It, however, evoked mixed response on city outskirts. The MIM party workers went around the city in batches and forced closure of shops and business establishments. Cutting across party lines and political affiliations, businessmen voluntarily observed complete bandh condemning the blast as an attempt to disturb communal harmony in the city. Black flags were hoisted at important junctions. Most of the RTC bus services in old city were cancelled till evening. The number of buses operated on city fringes was reduced. Bandh observers pelted stones on some RTC buses when officials pressed them into service during daytime in old city.
