New Principal of St. Stephen's

NEW DELHI: Valson Thampu will take charge as Officer on Special Duty to officiate as Principal of Delhi University's St. Stephen's College.

"The Supreme Council of the College is happy to invite a person of national standing like Mr. Thampu who has made significant contributions at the national level in diverse areas," said Joy Michael, a member of the Council, on Saturday.

Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Deepak Pental has been requested to ratify the invitation of the Supreme Council of the college to Mr. Thampu.

"In view of the fact that the matter of appointing a Principal is sub judice, the Council invoked the provision under Section 3 (C) of Ordinance 18 of Delhi University of inviting an OSD to officiate as Principal of the College," Ms. Michael added.
