Chennai: Chennai boys defeated Tuticorin 47-29 in the Tamil Nadu junior inter-district basketball championship at the St. Joseph's College of Engineering here on Saturday and Sunday. The results: Boys League: Cuddalore beat Thiruvannamalai 21-11; Tiruchi beat Nagai 32-18, Chennai beat Tuticorin 47-29, Vellore won the match due to non-reporting of opponent team Ramnad in time. Madurai beat Sivagangai 61-8. Girls League: Erode beat Nagai 48-19, Chennai beat Madurai 58-27, Cuddalore beat Villupuram 38-09, Kancheepuram beat Pudukottai 38-13, Tanjore beat Vellore 30-06, Pudukottai lost to Villupuram 20-27.
