Afsar, Paul triumph

KOCHI: Local stars, former junior internationals Afsar Majeed and Paul Abraham, won the first Uncle John-RSC all-India master pairs bridge tournament with an impressive tally of 260 victory points at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor Stadium here on Sunday evening.

Kochi's Simon John and Mohan Kumar (223 VPs) finished runners-up while Pollachi's S. Rajagopal and M.V. Rao were third. Simon John, Managing Director of Uncle John Ice Creams, gave away the prizes. — Principal Correspondent
