Great achievement

People of the State are proud of UPSC topper Muthyalaraju on his achievement. Though he hails from a remote area and belongs to a poor family, his academic track record should inspire the educated youth. Congratulations to Mr. Muthyalaraju and to his parents.

Reconsider move

It is learnt that the post office at Picket, Secunderabad, is being wound up shortly. It is one of the oldest post offices serving people from Trimulgherry, Marredpally, Picket, Grihalakshmi colony, Jyoti colony, Ishaq colony etc. Senior citizens and women will be the most affected.

If this post office is closed, the nearest one will be the head post office at Secunderabad, which is always crowded.

Many more hassles like commutation, hazards of parking, traffic vulnerability, will all add to the perils. Hopefully better alternative arrangements are being made.

Heartening move

It is heartening to read that barren lands are being handed over for development under the SEZs. Telangana leaders must influence poor farmers and request them to hand over their lands to industrialists, thus benefiting the ryots in a big way.

Bold decision
